Product Description

The Reciprocating Pump Test Rig training set-up is a self-contained unit operated on closed circuit basis containing a sump tank. The set-up consists of a Double acting, Single Cylinder Reciprocating Pump coupled with a AC Motor. Flow of water is measured by using measuring tank and stopwatch. Vacuum gauge is fitted on suction line and Pressure gauge is fitted on delivery line to measure the pressure.

Scope of Study

• To determine the characteristics of reciprocating pump and to find out total head, pump efficiency, overall efficiency & volume metric efficiency.
• To plot the graph of Head Vs Discharge
• To plot the graph of Discharge Vs Pump efficiency.

Medium Flow    :               Clear Water

Drive                     :               1HP motor, Crompton/Standard make having Step Cone Pulley for Three different speeds.

Sump Tank          :               Capacity 50 Ltrs. (approx.)

Flow Measurement:       Using Measuring Tank with piezometer, Capacity 25 Ltrs.(approx.)

Stop Watch         :               Electronic

Pressure Gauge :               Bourdon type.

Components mounted on the control panel are:

RPM measurement         :               Digital RPM Indicator with Proximity sensor

Energy measurement    :               Electronic Energy meter, L&T make.

MCB      :               For overload protection.
